Kapil’s Diwali Gift ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ On Sony From Nov 25; Dr Mashoor Gulati In?

Kapil Sharma Sunil Grover Mashoor Gulati
Bhubaneswar/Mumbai: The comedy king Kapil Sharma is reportedly all set to return with a bang to make people laugh next month.
According to a report of Bollywood Hungama, the grand re-entry of Kapil on Sony Entertainment will be on November 25.
“That’s (November 25) the tentative date to resume the show,” Bollywood Hungama quoted a source close as saying.
The source further said, “We are all working towards a 25 November start. We want it to be a Diwali gift for Kapil’s fans. However, if we don’t meet the 25 November deadline, we will start on 11 December for sure.”
However, there are no reports whether Sunil Grover (famous as Gutthi and Dr Mashoor Gulati) will be part of the new show of Kapil.
While many believe both of them have moved on burying the hatchet, it seems Kapil will not have the presence of Sunil in the show.
On the other hand, Kapil will reportedly tie the knot with his girlfriend Ginni Charath on December 12 in Jalandhar.

Opening up on the topic of his marriage, Kapil had earlier said: “The wedding is on December 12 in Jalandhar. That’s Ginni’s hometown. We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish.”
Fans are all excited for Kapil’s return and wish him all the best for the show!!

Kaun Banega Crorepati has kept the audiences entertained for quite some time now. In its 10th season now, the show has managed to rake in the highest TRPs. It even got a winner this season, Binita Jain from Assam. Celebrities have also been a part of the show and KBC 10 has given us a lot of emotional stories to ponder over. It even beat Bigg Boss 12 in the TRP race several times. But reports in Pinkvilla suggest that the show might go off-air next month. The channel will apparently air its finale episode by the end of November 2018.
Even though the show is quite popular, the channel is planning to wrap up the show soon. Since the show was launched as a finite series, it’s only fair that they end it someday. According to reports, Senior Bachchan insisted that the channel end the show sooner so the audience is excited for the next season of the show. More than the questions, it was contestants meeting Amitabh Bachchan that was more entertaining. Some would be too numb to speak or some would force him to dance with them and of course, there were some who would want him to wish their family members a happy birthday.

"About three weeks ago, during the negotiations, Sony published a disconnection notice applicable from 30 September midnight," he added. Tata Sky said it has retained the channels with good viewership numbers, at a la carte rates and are paying a considerable premium (almost three times) to Sony as per their rate card versus contracted rates, in the interest of its subscribers. The DTH player has retained 10 channels including Set, Sony Sab, Set HD, and Aaj Tak. Kaul, however, claimed that Tata Sky had signed an RIO (reference inter-connect offer) for the 10 channels and it could have done the same for the other 22 channels as well.

After TATA Sky Stops Channels, Sony Launches Campaign to Make Viewers #DemandForSony

Tata Sky  has stopped 23 out of 34 channels from the bundles of the Sony network and Sony is still in the process of resolving the issue officially with the direct to home (DTH) service provider.
These backend negotiations had not deterred Sony from utilizing other means toresolve the issues. Sony has launched a video campaign with two videos doing rounds on social media convincing the Tata Sky subscribers to “Demand For Sony Channels”. These videos are made in Hindi and English under the hashtag #DemandForSony and are featuring sports experts and other TV celebrities.
Along with that, Sony is also putting up a quite visible fight on twitter to make the consumer understand that Sony has not stopped the channels and it’s only the DTH provider who can resolve the issue.
Sony’s flagship Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) Sony entertainment television is not doing very well these days in terms of numbers and is unable to put a fight like it was doing four to five years back against its competitors. Indian Idol is the only programme which many viewers will miss on Sony’s GEC.
However, Sony has quite a healthy line up of sports channel with Australia-Pakistan match currently being broadcasted. Champions League’s matches will also be broadcasted on the sports channel of the network along with the upcoming bilateral series of India and Australia. The network has also signed content deals with many International cricket boards and therefore subscribers of Tata sky will miss out these sport events if the tussle between both companies goes on like this.
Sony is trying to create demands for its channels with the help of this new campaign.

Clearing The ‘Air’: After DTH Operator Tata Sky Pulls Down 32 Sony Channels, Says It’s Open To Price Negotiations

Clearing The ‘Air’: After DTH Operator Tata Sky Pulls Down 32 Sony Channels, Says It’s Open To Price Negotiations

Direct-to-home (DTH) operator Tata Sky have said they are open to negotiations to offer customers the channels two days after having removed 32 channels of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) and three of TV Today Network due to pricing issues.
SPN’s three-year contract with Tata Sky had expired on 31 July, and the two have been negotiating a new pricing deal.
Tata Sky had asked for an extension so that the negotiations on the deal could come through, according to SPN president- distribution Rajesh Kaul. He also claimed that Tata Sky has gone ahead and switched off SPN’s 22 channels unilaterally, without even discussing with the company.
"In that sense, talks have failed, that is why they have switched off (our channels)," Kaul said, as reported by ET.
"We are completely open to that (negotiations). This is our business so we are open to any dialogue, any discussion which can lead to a settlement," he added.
Tata Sky chief executive officer and managing director Harit Nagpal also told PTI, "We hope to positively close negotiations and get all our subscribers their desired channels as soon as possible. The commercial negotiations with the broadcasters broke down as what they were seeking would have forced us to hike our prices," said Nagpal.
The biggest bone of contention, according to Kaul, is that Tata Sky has increased its subscriber base from 10 million to 16 million in two-three years and SPN has increased its bouquet of channels from 14 to 32.
"We are asking for an increase because of these two factors," he added.
As per regulator TRAI, the DTH giants and multi-system operators pay the broadcasters based on the number of subscribers they have, which means that the broadcaster cannot increase the rates.
Despite losing marquee properties like the Indian Premier League and Kapil Sharma show, Sony was expecting a much higher increase compared to what Tata Sky was willing to offer, in line with the channels’ viewership ratings, said Nagpal.
