Star, Zee, Sony come out with channel pricing under TRAI's new tariff regime

Major broadcasters such as Zee Entertainment, Sony Picture Networks and Star India have come out with their a-la-carte and bouquet prices of their channels as mandated under the new framework for broadcasting and cable services by the sectoral regulator TRAI, applicable from December 29, 2018.
The new framework allows consumers to select and pay only for the channels they wish to view and requires TV broadcasters to disclose maximum retail price (MRP) of channels individually and that of bouquets.

Zee Entertainment Enterprise has welcomed it saying that it would provide customers a wide range of choices.
"The new regime, which is now applicable, would now give choice to consumers, deciding over the channel, which he wants to watch. He can now choose the channels and bouquet which he wants to watch," Zee Entertainment Enterprise President, Distribution and Affiliate Atul Das told PTI.
He added: "This would give the consumers power of choice to choose their favourite channels and packs and pay only for what they want to watch."
ZEEL has brought 68 consumer-centric packs, offering genres from entertainment, movies, news, music and lifestyle. It has priced Hindi packs starting at Rs 45.
Star India has also announced its value pack in seven languages, with price range starting from Rs 25 (exclusive of taxes) for Tamil to Rs 49 for Hindi.
Star Value Pack includes entertainment, movies, knowledge and the best of Sports -compelling content for everyone in the family.
"We believe Entertainment and Sports play a critical role in shaping the nation. By including Sports in the Star Value Pack, we aim to make it accessible to every Indian and thus change the way Sports has been consumed in the country," said Star India Managing Director Sanjay Gupta.
While Sony Picture Network, which has distribution rights for 32 channels, has also dealared its channel MRP for its a-la-carte and bouquets on its website.
Its has put a MRP of Rs 90 for the bouquet of HD channels, which includes HD channels such as Set, ET, Sab, Max, SONY BBC Earth, Ten 1, Ten 2, Ten 3, Six, SONY ESPN, Pix, AXN and AXN HD.
Trai's new framework is also supported by Multi System Operators (MSOs).
A leading MSO, which did not want to be identified, said that it would improve the "quality of content" among the channels besides providing choices to consumers and bring "transparency in pricing".

Kapil Sharma is back and how! The comedian almost makes Amitabh Bachchan cry of laughter at KBC 10's grand finale.

Kapil Sharma is back baby! The comedian will be making his comeback on the small screen with his own show in December 2018. But before that, he made an appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati10’s grand finale. Though we only got to see him for 5 minutes before last night’s episode ended, it was worth it. Big B congratulated Kapil on his wedding and they even made a couple of jokes around it. The comedian invited the quiz show host for his wedding but they did not start answering any questions last night. Watching Kapil back in action finally makes us feel so happy!
In a preview of the upcoming episode and the last episode, Kapil’s non-stop funny takes on things we do on a regular basis leave Amitabh Bachchan in tears. The actor takes off his glasses and wipes his eyes saying that he has laughed so much that he has tears in his eyes. Well, that’s how it’s going to be for fans who will be watching the show on Monday, too. Kapil seems fit and super confident about his comeback on the small screen. He will get back to work right after getting married to Ginni Chatrath next month.

Kapil’s Diwali Gift ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ On Sony From Nov 25; Dr Mashoor Gulati In?

Kapil Sharma Sunil Grover Mashoor Gulati
Bhubaneswar/Mumbai: The comedy king Kapil Sharma is reportedly all set to return with a bang to make people laugh next month.
According to a report of Bollywood Hungama, the grand re-entry of Kapil on Sony Entertainment will be on November 25.
“That’s (November 25) the tentative date to resume the show,” Bollywood Hungama quoted a source close as saying.
The source further said, “We are all working towards a 25 November start. We want it to be a Diwali gift for Kapil’s fans. However, if we don’t meet the 25 November deadline, we will start on 11 December for sure.”
However, there are no reports whether Sunil Grover (famous as Gutthi and Dr Mashoor Gulati) will be part of the new show of Kapil.
While many believe both of them have moved on burying the hatchet, it seems Kapil will not have the presence of Sunil in the show.
On the other hand, Kapil will reportedly tie the knot with his girlfriend Ginni Charath on December 12 in Jalandhar.

Opening up on the topic of his marriage, Kapil had earlier said: “The wedding is on December 12 in Jalandhar. That’s Ginni’s hometown. We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish.”
Fans are all excited for Kapil’s return and wish him all the best for the show!!

Kaun Banega Crorepati has kept the audiences entertained for quite some time now. In its 10th season now, the show has managed to rake in the highest TRPs. It even got a winner this season, Binita Jain from Assam. Celebrities have also been a part of the show and KBC 10 has given us a lot of emotional stories to ponder over. It even beat Bigg Boss 12 in the TRP race several times. But reports in Pinkvilla suggest that the show might go off-air next month. The channel will apparently air its finale episode by the end of November 2018.
Even though the show is quite popular, the channel is planning to wrap up the show soon. Since the show was launched as a finite series, it’s only fair that they end it someday. According to reports, Senior Bachchan insisted that the channel end the show sooner so the audience is excited for the next season of the show. More than the questions, it was contestants meeting Amitabh Bachchan that was more entertaining. Some would be too numb to speak or some would force him to dance with them and of course, there were some who would want him to wish their family members a happy birthday.
